By Delilah

There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved. — George Sand

In LOVE MATTERS, Delilah, nighttime radio's
favorite host, opens her heart to explain why she thinks love is so vitally important in our lives. Along with her own reflections, she shares dozens of uplifting listener stories that will encourage, inspire and empower. Story themes include falling in love, lost and found love, second chance at love, letting love go, everlasting love, love of family and love of friends. Delilah matches each story with an appropriate song, truly bringing to the page the magic she shares on the radio. These emotional narratives, and her reflections and stories from her own life, will touch the heart and offer hope to all who value loving relationships.

Delilah on why Love Matters

“I think love is really all that matters. It’s love that’s given me my mission in life, to be a voice for those who have no voice. Love matters because when all else passes away, it remains.

The stories in this book reaffirm the truth of this. I’m grateful to the listeners who’ve shared their stories about how love has changed their lives for the better, helping them to grow, to heal, to give back or pay forward, to find meaning and purpose and beauty in life, to bring them closer to God and to the people in their hearts and in their lives. I hope all who read their stories will be inspired to love someone, and someone else, and someone else…”

Meet The Author

Delilah fell in love with the airwaves as an eleven-year-old Girl Scout on a field trip to local radio station KDUN-AM in Reedsport, Oregon. At fourteen she had her first show, “Delilah on the Warpath,” reporting school news and sports at the station, and by high school she was working
at KDUN-AM six days a week.

Today, over twenty-five years and fourteen stations later, Delilah’s internationally syndicated show plays in more than 250 markets across North America. Airing from seven p.m. to midnight in most markets, she plays requests or finds the perfect song for callers who have an inspiring, heart-rending or simply amazing story to share with the beloved radio host and her more than 8 million devoted listeners.

A single mother of ten children, seven of them adopted, and a devoted grandmother, Delilah lives outside of Seattle, Washington, on forty-five acres of gardens and farmland. Because of her personal experience with the foster care system, Delilah has established the Point Hope Foundation as a voice for forgotten children. The immediate focus of Point Hope is on refugee children in Ghana and special needs children in foster care. Endorsements
“Delilah is radio’s equivalent to Oprah Winfrey. Delilah is appealing to the listener because her show is centered around relationships.”
—Chicago Tribune

“Delilah wants every call to end on an ‘audio hug’ of empathy and recognition, and it does, it does. Inevitably she lifts us up where we belong.”
—New York Times

“Whether the caller is celebrating a birthday. . .or grappling with tragedy, Delilah offers soothing words and musical commentary.”
—People

“[Delilah] treats her listeners like they are friends gathered at her not-so-fancy kitchen table, sharing some soft-rock tunes, some tea and some stories.”
—San Jose Mercury News

“On and off the air, she is the friendly next door neighbor with time to talk over a virtual backyard fence.”
—New York Times

“Rather than trying to advise the callers or fix the situation, Delilah simply relates to the audience. Then, she matches the situation with music.”
—Radio Ink
